ABBA The Museum opens in Stockholm, Sweden
At last, ABBA the Museum opens in Sweden. ABBA’s collected works will be showcased in a contemporary, interactive setting at Swedish Music Hall of Fame, a new exhibit venue located at Djurgården, Stockholm, set to open next year.
 
The great search for all things related to ABBA’s music, lyrics, stage costumes, musicals and films has gone on for quite some time. And Swedish Music Hall of Fame provides the perfect framework for it, says original ABBA member Bj�rn Ulvaeus.

’ABBA The Museum will fit right in at Swedish Music Hall of Fame, as it is a part of Sweden’s pop history. And the location at Stockholm’s Djurgården feels like coming home,’ says Ulvaeus.

Behind the scenes, Mattias Hansson – Managing Director of ABBA The Museum – is in charge of getting the museum up and running.

’Swedish pop music is an important part of our cultural heritage’, says Hansson. ’And ABBA is one of our most well known international brands. It’s our duty to give their work a permanent space here.’

A m�zeum az eddig vil�got j�r� ABBAWORLD ki�ll�t�st fogja felv�ltani, �sszegy�jtve egy helyre az ABBA-relivi�kat.

Bemutatja a zenekar t�rt�net�vel �sszef�gg� t�rgyakat, szem�lyes holmikat, ismert sz�npadi ruh�kat, hangszereket, lemezeket �s m�g soha nem l�tott �s hallott hang- �s filmfelv�teleket is – hangzott el a sajt�t�j�koztat�n, amelyen szem�lyesen r�szt vett az egy�ttes egyik alap�t� tagja, Bj�rn Ulvaeus is.

A m�zeumot a sv�d f�v�ros egyik turisztikailag legfrekvent�ltabb k�rzet�ben helyezik el, a Kir�lyi-szigeten, ahol a Vasa Haj�m�zeum, a Skanzen, valamint a v�ros vid�mparkja is tal�lhat�. Az �v v�g�re elk�sz�l� zenei m�zeum, a Swedish Music Hall of Fame f��p�let�ben kap helyet. A tervek szerint 2013 �prilis�ban ny�lik meg.

Mattias Hansson projektvezet� elmondta, hogy “a zenei m�zeummal egy olyan k�zpontot szeretn�nek l�trehozni, ahol interakt�v m�dszerrel a zene ir�nt minden �rdekl�d� – k�l�n�s tekintettel a gyermekekre �s a fiatalokra – helyben �t tudja �lni a zene ny�jtotta �lm�nyt, kikapcsol�d�st �s �r�m�t.” A projektet egy sv�d alap�tv�ny finansz�rozza, amelynek t�mogat�i t�bbek k�z�tt a mai sv�d popzene kiemelked� alakjai.

Az 1970-ben alakult ABBA egy�ttes – Bj�rn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha F�ltsog �s Anni-Frid Lyngstad – akkor v�lt vil�gszerte ismertt�, amikor 1974-ben a Waterloo c�m� dal�val megnyerte az Eurov�zi�s Dalfesztiv�lt.

ABBA return to Arlanda airport

Visitors arriving at Stockholm Arlanda Airport are being treated to a unique preview of ABBA The Museum which opens in Stockholm next year.

ABBA The Museum, part of the Swedish Music Hall of Fame, will open on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm on 7 May 2013. The museum’s Curator Ingmarie Halling, Managing Director Mattias Hansson and CEO Catorina Falkenhav have this week unveiled an exhibition in Arlanda’s Terminal 5 showing some of what the museum has to offer.

Among the rarities on display at the airport is an authentic gold disc for sales of the single Waterloo, and specially sewn replicas of ABBA’s spectacular 1974 Eurovision Song Contest costumes. Jonas Åkerlund’s 2010 film about ABBA plays on a large video screen, whilst in the baggage hall travellers are welcomed by the puppets created for The Last Video, and in a bizarre twist, by a 14 metre ABBA poster.

A large poster of ABBA that previously welcomed visitors to Stockholm was removed from the arrivals hall of Arlanda Airport earlier this year at Benny Andersson’s request following a dispute with Stockholm City Council.

According to Arlanda’s Accounts Director, Micke Bayar, the airport has installed “security that even James Bond couldn’t get through” in order to protect the priceless ABBA artefacts.

Jan Lindqvist, Swedavia Arlanda’s Communication Manager said:  “With nearly 20 million passengers annually, Arlanda is the main gateway to Stockholm. We want to show visitors what the region has to offer and of course ABBA The Museum is a new and very attractive destination.”

“ABBA was the first major Swedish music export. Therefore, it feels very good and right that the airport that handles a large part of Sweden’s international flight connections should show the preview of ABBA The Museum.” Lindqvist continued.

This exhibition will end in May, when the museum opens. But the airport’s collaboration with ABBA The Museum extends over several years and will involve ongoing smaller displays in different locations around the airport. There will also be competitions to win tickets to the museum, as well as other ABBA-related activities.

There were fans from all over the world. Frida, Benny, Bj�rn attendended on the opening ceremony. Agnetha sent video message, she was in London.

Itt a piros telefon, amely Frida �tlete volt. Ha megsz�lala az egyik Abba tag van a vonalm�sik v�g�n �s egy nagyon szerencs�s l�togat� besz�lgethet vele.

The red telephone was Frida's idea. If it rings a verylucky visitor can talk to one of the Abba members.

ABBA The Museum are proud to offer an exclusive tour in the beautiful Stockholm archipelago, in this totally fresh and renovated motor cruiser owned by Benny Andersson in the late 1970’s, and used in several ABBA photo shoots during the bands heydays.

Your Captain on board, Mr. Tobias Bringholm, will pick you up close to ABBA The Museum and take you on an unforgettable tour on a boat with true pop iconic status.

Food and drinks can be served on board or at one of the preferred archipelago destinations. This event is booked for groups of 10-20 persons. Choose between full-day event or a sunset cruise in the city centre of Stockholm:
