The compilation "Greatest Hits" including Fernando - one of ABBA's greatest hits ever - was released all over the world in the spring 1976. The well-known "bench" photo session was used on most of the covers but even the painting of Hans Arnold featured on the Scandinavian releases was used on some issues mostly in Spanish language territories.
On March 26, 1976 the album "Greatest Hits" was released in the UK. The album was issued in two slightly different versions. Both included the current hit "Fernando" but the song had not been planned for release on this album from the very beginning as the single "Fernando" was released at the same time as the first pressings of the album cover were ready in the UK. That's why the title "Fernando" did not appear in the track listing on the cover of the first pressing of the album. A special sticker telling that the album included "extra track - the hit single Fernando" was taped on all covers.

It was ABBA's third UK album which contained 5 previously unreleased in Great Britain songs (from the LP "Ring Ring"). "Greatest Hits" entered the British chart on April 10th and stayed there for... 130 weeks (2,5 years). The highest position was #1 for the first time on May 8 for 9 weeks and the second time on October 16 for 2 more weeks. Great Britain belonged to ABBA....

Yugoslavian pressing in my opinion the first.
Label isn't the same like the other one with reversed BB on a red label.

Lengyel kiads Waterloo.
Klnlegessge a lemezen hallhat szmok listja.
Lemaradt rla a Ring Ring.

Poland
The Polish edition of the album featured almost the same track listing as the Swedish issue but without the Swedish version of "Waterloo". "Ring Ring" was not included here either. The record company "Muza - Polskie nagrania" issued the album in limited edition in 1975.

Red labelled version is mine,too.
I think it is rare because of it is hard to find picsture and infos on the net.

A piros cmks verzi.

Ez a francia kiads VV lemez is most rkezett.
Ksznet a klnleges lemezekrt Richardnak!

So many nice French vinyls arrived.
I am so glad to have them.
The album "Voulez-Vous" was released by the French record company "Vogue" in three versions - vinyl, red vinyl and picture disc. The vinyl versions of the album came out on 23 April and the picture disc on 28 May. It is unclear why just this album had so many different releases in France but one can suspect that the French title had something to do with it.
"Voulez-Vous" entered the French chart in May 1979 where it stayed for 16 weeks peaking at #6.

Thanks so much for everything Richard!

A kedvenc dalom ismt, most francia nyomsban.

My favourite song made in France.
Nice to have it.

A kvetkez kislemez a francia kiads Fernando.

Next one is french pressed Fernando. Special cover because of Agnetha.
Fans know so well what I mean.
In France the single "Fernando" was released already on February 20, 1976. The song on the B-side on the French release was "Dance (While the Music Still Goes On)" taken from the album "Waterloo". "Fernando" entered the French chart first in April and stayed there for 13 weeks peaking at #1 (for 3 weeks).
The cover picture on the French relese featured an alternative shot from the photo session.
The single was released on both Melba label and Vogue label.

Agnetha kislemezt az Agnetha menben tallod.
You can find this SP in Agnetha menu.
Thanks so much for everything Richard!

Lycka - the album
In the autumn of 1970 the first product of the cooperation between Bjrn and Benny was released. The album "Lycka" (Hapiness) contained 11 songs written by the future ABBA composers with some help of Stig Anderson, Agnetha Fltskog (!), Peter Himmelstrand and Anders Fugelstad. The album did not become a big hit on the Swedish chart but it was definitely an important part of the pre-ABBA period.

A very cute song from the album of Benny and Bjorn "Lycka" 1970
This song has been written by Benny, Bjorn and Agnetha and it was written for Frida's daughter Liselott.
I've put subtitles on the song but don't know if they're completely right :)
Slideshow with pictures of Liselott! :D

Egy kedves kis dal a lemezrl Agnetha s Bjrn rta. Liselott-rl szl Frida kislnyrl.
A kpek is rla kszltek.

Finally I got this very nice SP! I am very happy with it.

In Great Britain the single "Thank You For the Music" b/w "Our Last Summer" promoted the compilation LP with the same title. The single entered the British chart on November 12th, 1983 where it stayed for 6 weeks reaching #33.

Vogue in France re-issued "Greatest Hits" in 1976. The new version of the album included "Fernando" listing and the cover was partly re-done but the same "cat-and-dog" photo was used even here. "Mamma Mia" was omitted on the French MC edition of the album.

1976-ban a francia Vogue kiad megjelentette a Greatest hits albumot.
A lemezen megtallhat a Fernando c. dal is.

A legjabb lemez a gyjtemnyemben. Jugoszlv nyoms Greatest hits.

The Yugoslavian edition of the album featured ABBA's new logo on the record label which means that the album saw its release late in 1976 or in 1977.
