After a suggesston from Bjrn, Agnetha tried out for a role in the theatre. She played Mary Magdalene in the Swedish stage version of Jesus Christ Super Star.

Bjrn Ulvaeus, Agnetha's husband at the time, had heard about the Swedish production, he suggested Agnetha audition for the role of Mary Magdalene.
The producers had a tough time choosing between Agnetha and Titti Sjblom, daughter of legendary singer Alice Babs. In what was termed a compromise, Agnetha headlined in the role with Sjblom playing the matinees and possibly headlining future runs in Oslo and Stockholm. The Première was February 18 at The Scandinavium in Gteborg and the five-day run set an untouchable Swedish record playing To 74,000 people.
