ABBA - Die Story geht weiter broadcast
EVENT JULY 28, 2016 10:00 PM
Plenty of "new" faces and not-overly-familiar environments in upcoming German documentary.
The German television channel VOX will be having an ABBA-themed evening on 28 July 2016. They will screen Mamma Mia! The Movie and also broadcast a newly made documentary, entitled ABBA – Die Story geht weiter, for which I was interviewed.
The interviews in Sweden were made back in January, around the time of the opening of Mamma Mia! The Party, so they got to talk with Bjrn Ulvaeus at the time as well. I went with the production team to the former Polar Music offices at Baldersgatan 1 in Stockholm - the ABBA "headquarters" from 1975 to 1981 - so the programme will also show interiors from those hallowed halls.
There's also a fresh roster of interviewees, who we've not seen too many times in other documentaries, such as former Hootenanny Singers member Tonny Roth, The King Has Lost His Crown drummer Rolf Alex, and Polar Music engineer Lennart stlund - among other people of interest.
My name is not mentioned in the press release, so I'm not sure if I made it into the programme, but it's bound to be very interesting viewing either way.
